CURRICULUM

STEAM students are required to take the following courses during the four years of this program:

(STEAM courses qualify students to take AP Courses in Math, Computer Science, Science, and English.)

Grade 10 STEAM: 
Grade 10 STEAM Math MPM2D2/P
Grade 10 STEAM Science SNC2D2/P
Grade 11 STEAM Computer Science ICS3U2/P
Grade 11 STEAM Engineering TEJ3M2
Grade 10 STEAM English ENG2D2/P
Grade 10 STEAM Religion through Media Arts HRT2O2
**It is highly recommended that students complete at least one Online credit from non-STEAM required courses**
Grade 11 STEAM:
Grade 11 STEAM Math MCR3U2/P
Grade 12 STEAM Math Advanced Functions MHF4U2/P
Grade 11 STEAM Science (STEAM Biology SBI3U2/P and/or STEAM Chemistry SCH3U2/P and/or STEAM Physics SPH3U2/P)
Grade 12 STEAM Computer Science ICS4U2/P
Grade 11 STEAM English ENG3U2/P

**STEAM students must select STEAM Sciences**

**Most STEAM students write their Advanced Placement Calculus (AB) in their Grade 11 year.**

Grade 12 STEAM:
Students DO NOT travel as a cohort but must complete
Grade 12 STEAM English
ENG4U2/P

Grade 12 STEAM Engineering TEJ4M2

and at least two additional credit courses from the following:
Grade 12 STEAM/AP Mathematics
MCV4U2/P

Grade 12 Data Management MDM4U
Grade 12 STEAM/AP Sciences (Chemistry SCH4U2/P, Biology SBI4U2/P, Physics SPH4U2/P)

**STEAM students are qualified and encouraged to take the Grade 12 STEAM APCalculus (MCV4U9) course, writing the AP Calculus Test through this course.**

STEAM & FIT Certificates (Graduation)
*Students must maintain an average of 70% to remain in the STEAM program.
 

*STEAM students with an overall 80%+ average across their Grade 11 & Grade 12 Computer Science Courses, qualify to receive the FIT Certificate in Software Development at graduation issued by the Information and Technology Council of Canada (ICTC).*
